Hyundai Megasite Phase 1

Group: Civil Construction

Location: Ellabell, GA

Description of Job: The 2,923-acre Bryan County Megasite is located in Bryan County adjacent to Interstate 16 with immediate access from I-95 and I-16 to 250 major metro areas including Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte, Memphis, and Orlando. Barnett Southern and its business partners McLendon Enterprises and Complete Sitework Services, were awarded the contract for site and utility development (Phase I) of the Hyundai Motors electric vehicle plant. The $5.5 billion dollar manufacturing facility was announced by Hyundai and the State of Georgia on April 22, 2022 and will employ 8,100 workers in the Savannah area. The Megasite will be home to the electric vehicle assembly plant and an adjacent EV battery factory having a large economic impact in the local market.

Hyundai Megasite Phase II

Group: Civil Construction

Location: Ellabell, GA

Description of Job: Barnett Southern and its business partners McLendon Enterprises and Complete Sitework Services, were awarded the contract for civil works including all infrastructure and building pads for HMGMA, MOBIS and the LG Battery Plant of the Hyundai Motors electric vehicle plant. 

Safe Harbor Sportsman Marina

Location: Orange Beach, AL

Description of Job: Safe Harbor Sportsman boasts one of the world’s largest artificial reefs, drawing avid anglers from shallow to deep-sea waters. Barnett Southern Marine played a pivotal role in expanding their marina, enhancing amenities for members and guests through meticulous site work and dock installation. Barnett Southern Marine is now in Phase III of their expansion with Safe Harbor Sportsman Marina. 

Hurricane Aid for Disaster Relief

Group: Disaster Relief | Marine Construction

Location: Ft Myers, FL

Description of Job: Our team collaborated with the Florida Department of Emergency Management to assist in vessel recovery efforts in Fort Myers, Florida, following the devastating effects of Hurricane Ian. Our dedicated crew worked tirelessly to aid in disaster relief, demonstrating our commitment to serving communities in need where we stood ready to lend support whenever and wherever it is needed most.

Ft. Pulaski

Group: Civil Construction

Location: Savannah, GA

Description of Job: Improvements to drainage were made on a Civil War battlefield by the National Park Service and the US Army Corps of Engineers. The work was done on Cockspur Island, which is environmentally sensitive. They upgraded a drainage system from the 1800s while taking care not to harm the park. They used special equipment and a mat system to access the area and reduce the impact of construction. The project finished on time with little disruption to the park.

Sanibel Causeway Project

Group: Marine Construction

Location: Ft. Myers, FL

Description of Job: Following the destruction caused by Hurricane Ian, Barnett Southern Marine assisted FDEM (Florida Department of Emergency) and their contractors with aggregate civil work during the restoration of five bridge approaches where the bridge meets the upland roadway. During the construction job, we also operated under the causeway at the Punta Rossa Boat Ramp and assisted with its restoration efforts. 

The Laney Greenway Apartments

Group: Civil Construction

Location: Augusta, GA

Description of Job: Sitework and utility installation for The Laney Greenway Apartments in the heart of Augusta was performed for Bacar Constructors for the development of an all-inclusive, multifamily complex catered to the medical professionals in the area. Centered near a major hospital site conditions dictated design modifications to address challenges encountered during construction while maintaining an aggressive schedule impacted by supply chain issues. Ever changing conditions and material supply created an environment where operations were adjusted constantly to accommodate completion of the work in conjunction with other trades onsite. The project was successfully completed, turned over to the owner under budget, and ready for residents to move in.
